We’re donating to projects that fight climate change

In alignment with our goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, we’ve put a stop to buying “more stuff”, redirecting our focus to better support nature. So, when you next receive a gift from us, you can feel good knowing you’re doing good.

The Change

After discovering that the branded merchandise we give away produces 6.5 million car-driven miles worth of carbon emissions every year, we introduced a policy to put a stop to it. Instead, we will reallocate funds toward projects that help fight climate change – donating on our guests’, trade partners and team members behalf instead of giving away “more stuff”. By doing this, we’ll be removing additional carbon emissions from the atmosphere, further supporting the planet to naturally soak up carbon and keep warming below 1.5° C by mid-century.

The Projects

GreenWave’s kelp climate fund

Every donation to GreenWave will fund the planting of 40lbs of kelp across regenerative ocean farms in North America. Kelp offers a powerful and scalable carbon drawdown solution that can capture and store carbon as well as support economies and global food systems – the definition of a nature-based solution to climate change.

Rainforest Rescue’s Daintree project

Each donation to Rainforest Rescue restores 1 square metre of Australia’s Daintree Rainforest, will preserve biodiversity and remove carbon from the atmosphere through planting, maintenance and restoration programs. This is done in partnership with traditional landowners, the Eastern Kuku Yalanji people.

Our Collective Impact by December 2024

  • Preventing emissions

By removing the branded merchandise that we would give away, we're preventing the equivalent carbon emissions of 6.5 million car-driven miles from entering the atmosphere.

  • Carbon removal

In addition to prevention, the investment of donations in nature-based solutions will remove a further 1.5 million car-driven miles in carbon emissions from the atmosphere.
