With many rural areas in Australia affected by the devastating bushfires, it’s vital that we keep our communities thriving, by supporting them in this time of need. In collaboration with the Empty Esky movement, we have put together the perfect food and wine lover’s long weekend. Not only will you visit some of the region’s best wineries, this five-day getaway to South Australia now visits some amazing small businesses, allowing you to stock up on all the tastiest produce. Don’t worry about getting it home, as we’ll cover excess baggage within Australia - as a show of support for these recovering areas.*

Barristers Block Winery in the Adelaide Hills was left in ruin after losing 100 per cent of their vines in the December 2019 bushfires. Fortunately, their cellar door was saved. On day three of the Flavours of South Australia journey, show support by hearing their stories and stocking up with their delectable, award-winning wines.

One for the sweet tooths… visit Melba’s Chocolate Factory in Woodside, famous for their incredible Turkish Delight, Traffic Lights and Inch Liquorice.  Enjoy these sugary treats while also showing your support to this small business that was thankfully saved from the fires by the tireless efforts of firefighters, our everyday heroes.

Is cheese beautiful? It is at Woodside Cheese Wrights! Try their fresh and creamy chevre with a hint of outback South Australian saltbush, or some award-winning soft and sweet Figaro. Don’t miss Monet, made of the best Chevre, dressed with special herbs and gorgeous edible organic flowers. With limited access, loss of power and smoke damage, all their cheese stock was lost. Pay a visit, show your support and fill your eskies with stunningly delicious cheeses.

Inspiring Journeys is proud to be associated with the contribution made by our parent company, The Travel Corporation (TTC), to the NSW Rural Fire Service – a donation of $100K, which was made in December 2019. The danger they put themselves in on a daily basis to protect the community and its surrounding area is truly heroic. Our hearts go out to the loss of life, property, wildlife and nature from Australia’s bushfire tragedy. Funds go towards technology and necessities such as radios, floodlights, GPS for the trucks, maintenance, fuel, food and training.
